Aloha, I’m Mayzy…

A lover of movement and nature, I was born and raised on the vibrant island of Kaua’i. From the ocean to the mountains I always felt a support from the surrounding elements and craved for that sense of balance to be mirrored within me. Come to think of it, I was seeking balance in all areas of life and yet had no felt sense to match the longed for concept…

Before the age of two, I had a trampoline accident and found myself living in daily spinal pain; by age 12 I was asking big questions about the implications of my future in this body; by age 17 a Chiropractor and Dr both suggested back surgery. I refused to accept that fate.

On a quest for structural peace and freedom, my pain brought me to the work of Yoga and Structural integration. Receiving Structural Integration for the first time at age 17, I cried tears of joy and relief. The work gave me grounded hope for expanding my way into freedom, function, and a life out of pain. I realized far too many of us don’t know that this particular sense of hope is a very real feeling and a very real beginning to a life-altering process. Both Yoga and SI asked me and my spine to solve our woes by way of extension and lift - things my body had forgotten, things that got in the way of dancing, hiking, sitting in stillness… and just living. 

Since my first massage training at age 17, Dr. Ida Rolf’s influences have been orbiting around my life. I was receiving the 10 series while in the last module of a 500 hr yoga teacher training when it all aligned in my body and soul - I had to pursue her work. In 2021 I took the dive and trained at the Guild for Structural Integration in Utah. I opened my practice on Kaua’i in the end of 2021 and was off to an engaging start. In summer of 2024 I completed the Advanced Training of Structural Integration with David Davis in Arizona. I am now practicing in the Los Angeles area where I look forward to connecting with you and being a part of your journey to elevated wellness.
